Lash and Brow Services

Alabama Surgical Arts in Montgomery AL offers the following services for lashes and brows:

Lash Tint

What is Lash Tinting?

Eyelash tinting is a process that darkens your natural lashes with a semi-permanent dye. It is great for those who want to make their lashes look darker without having to use mascara every day.

Eyelash Tinting Service

This service is relatively quick, only taking about 15 minutes to apply. It can define your eyes and highlight your facial features. We typically recommend you do both an eyelash lift and tint to maximize your look and lasting potential.

Lash Lift

What is a Lash Lift?

A lash lift is a process that gives your lashes a natural curl and lift. It is perfect for those who already have long, full lashes and want to give their natural lashes a similar look to classic lash extensions. The results typically last 6 – 8 weeks.

Lash Lift Service

Every lift service starts off with a 15-minute consultation with your esthetician. During this time, we will go over what your desired look is and discuss and examine the current shape of your eye and the state of your natural lashes. Based on your responses and the esthetician’s expert opinion, we will select the appropriate rod, lift, shape, and curl for each patient. What’s notable about Alabama Surgical Arts is that we use a keratin-infused lash lift solution. The entire process takes about an hour and, with proper care, can last up to 8 weeks.

Combined Eyelash Lift & Tint Service

A lash lift and tint is a great way to get the most out of your eyelashes. This combo treatment involves boosting and lifting each individual lash and tinting them for thicker, darker, longer-looking lashes. The service takes about 1 hour and will last 6-8 weeks. Our tech will work closely with you to find the best look and color to make your lashes look magnificent.

Lash Lift & Tint Aftercare

Lash lifts are typically low maintenance; however, for the first 24-48 hours, there are some things you want to take extra precautions to avoid. Please consider following the lash lift aftercare instructions below:

  1. Do not rub your eyes — You should avoid touching or rubbing all parts of your eye (lashes, brows, etc.). If redness or irritation occurs, compress the eye area with a cool, damp, lightweight cloth.
  2. If you rub your eyes at any point after treatment, the semi-permanent mascara can diminish.
  3. If the irritation lasts more than 24 hrs., you should seek medical advice.
  4. For the first 24 hours, avoid getting your lashes wet. This also includes steam.
  5. Not doing so can cause the tinting to dissolve quickly and the lash to lose its curl.
  6. No eye makeup or other facial treatments for the first 24 hours.
  7. Do not lie or sleep on your face
  8. Avoid oil-based makeup products on your eyes.
  9. Keep in mind that tanning and other strong UV exposure can cause tinting to fade faster.
  10. Avoid any eyelash curlers.

Brow Wax

What is Eyebrow Waxing?

Eyebrow waxing is a hair removal technique that uses wax to remove unwanted hair from your eyebrows. It’s a quick way to shape your brows and give them a polished look.

Benefits of Eyebrow Waxing

  • Improved appearance: Eyebrow waxing can make your brows look sharp, clean, and more symmetrical.
  • Boosted confidence: When you feel good about your brows, you’ll feel more confident overall.
  • Low maintenance: Once your brows are waxed, they will stay shaped for up to four weeks.

How to Prepare for Your Eyebrow Waxing Appointment

  • Avoid any strong products one week prior to wax. Examples include Retinol, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, AHA’s / BHA’s
  • Exfoliate your brows gently the day before your appointment.
  • Come to your appointment with clean, makeup-free brows.

What to Expect During Your Eyebrow Waxing Appointment

  • The esthetician will start by cleansing your brows.
  • They will then apply a thin layer of wax to your brows.
  • Once the wax has hardened, the esthetician will quickly remove it, taking the unwanted hair with it.
  • The esthetician will then tweeze any stray hairs and trim your brows if needed.
  • They will finish by applying a soothing lotion to your brows.

Eyebrow Waxing Aftercare Tips

  • Avoid touching your brows for 24 hours after your appointment.

Brow Dermaplane

What is Brow Dermaplane?

Brow Dermaplane is an alternative form of hair removal. Instead of using wax to remove unwanted hair, a dermaplaning scalpel is used to shape and clean up the brows. This form of hair removal is completely painless and lasts 2-4 weeks. Patients who are very sensitive or have very thin skin are the best candidates for this service.

What is Brow Tint?

Brow tinting is a semi-permanent coloring treatment that stains your eyebrow hairs, giving them a fuller, darker, and more defined look that lasts up to 4-6 weeks.

What Does Brow Tint do?

  • Darkens and defines: The dye colors your eyebrow hairs, making them appear fuller and thicker. This can be especially helpful if you have light-colored brows, sparse brows, or gaps in your brows.
  • Shapes and sculpts: The tint can be applied strategically to create the desired shape for your brows, filling in gaps and evening out any unevenness.
  • Low-maintenance: Unlike daily brow makeup routines with pencils or gels, brow tint lasts for 4-6 weeks, saving you time and effort in the mornings.
  • Smudge-proof and waterproof: The dye is typically water-resistant, so you don’t have to worry about your brows smudging or running throughout the day.
Here are some additional things to know about brow tint:
  • Brow Tint comes in various shades: You can choose a color that matches your natural hair color or opt for a slightly darker shade for a more dramatic look.
  • It’s a relatively painless procedure: While you might feel a slight tingling sensation when the dye is applied, it’s generally considered a comfortable experience.
  • Brown Tint is not permanent: The dye eventually fades away, so you’ll need to get touch-ups every few weeks to maintain the desired look.

Can Anyone Get Their Brows Tinted?

Brow tinting is not suitable for everyone. People with sensitive skin or certain skin conditions might not be suitable candidates. It’s always best to consult with a professional before getting the treatment. Call Alabama Surgical Arts Office Phone Number 334-271-2002 to schedule a consultation and find out if brow tinting is suitable for you.

Overall, brow tinting is a great way to achieve fuller, darker, and more defined eyebrows without the daily hassle of brow makeup. It’s a popular choice for people who want low-maintenance beauty solutions and want to boost their confidence with their brows.

Henna Brow

Henna tinting is a treatment that involves staining the skin and brow hair. Henna tinting differs from the usual eyebrow dye you’d use during eyebrow tinting, which only affects the hair. It’s not a dye that has peroxide like regular brow tinting. It’s all-natural, derived from plants, and safe to use on the majority of skin types.

Some people are anxious about the permanence of brow tattooing, which is why henna tinting is a wonderful option to test the waters! It is a nice way to try a shape and color and then decide if you want to work up to something more permanent. It also saves the time spent applying makeup in the mornings.

How Do I Prepare For My Brow Tint?

Please come to your appointment with clean brows, meaning no makeup on or near the eyebrows. Please avoid wearing any foundation, concealer, or skincare on or near the brow area. Please avoid using any exfoliating skincare products. Do not use any AHAs or Retin A. Failure to do so may affect your results or cause an allergic reaction.

How Long Will My Brow tint Last?

Results vary based on the length, fullness, thickness, and growth structure of your brow hair. Results vary depending on skin type. Those who have oily skin may fade faster than someone with dry skin. Any type of exfoliation will also affect the amount of time the tint will last. Skincare containing AHAs or other chemical exfoliates may decrease the life of your tint. A gentle facial cleanser or eye makeup remover is recommended. The tint is designed to last up to 14 days on the skin and up to 6 weeks on the hair.

How Often Can I Get My Brows Tinted?

You can receive the brow tinting service every 2-4 weeks or until the tint has faded. It usually is darker the first couple of days.

Can I Swim, Shower, Exercise, Apply Makeup/Skincare Products, or Visit a Spa My Brows Tinted?

Yes. You can shower, swim, exercise, etc., and it will not affect your tint. Special care is required, but overall maintenance is low. We do recommend, however, that you do not wash your brow area for at least 24 hours after your brow tint, avoiding any water, steam, heat, or humidity. After 24 hours, you will be able to apply brow makeup and skincare. Please avoid any exfoliating skincare products, such as AHAs and Retin A, on the brows, as they could affect the results of your tint.

How Do I Take Care of My Brow Tint?

  • During the initial 48 hours after your appointment
  • Be gentle with your brows.
  • Do not touch with fingers.
  • Avoid steam, hot showers, facials, saunas, and swimming pools.
  • Avoid makeup, brow gel, face wash, shampoos, and skincare products.

24-Hours After Your Brow Tint Appointment

  • Apply a cool damp cotton compress to the eye area if redness or irritation occurs. If symptoms persist for more than 24 hours, seek medical advice.
  • The tint’s effects will start to diminish within 2-3 weeks as hair grows out and the tint color fades. Strong sunlight or UV light can accelerate this process.
  • A gentle facial cleanser or eye makeup remover is recommended.
  • Try to use oil-free facial products around the brow area to prolong the tint color.
  • Avoid exfoliating facial cleansers. Those containing AHAs or other chemical exfoliates may decrease the life of your tint.

Brow lamination

What is Brow Lamination?

Brow lamination is a revolutionary semi-permanent treatment that plumps, lifts, and defines your eyebrows. It’s like a perm for your brows, but instead of curls, you get smooth, fluffy hairs that are perfectly positioned to flatter your face.

Benefits of Brow Lamination

  • Fuller, thicker brows: Brow lamination can make your brows look up to twice as full, even if you have sparse or over-tweezed brows.
  • Lifted brows: The treatment can also lift your brows, giving you a more open and youthful appearance.
  • Defined brows: Brow lamination can help to define the shape of your brows, making them look more polished and put-together.
  • Low-maintenance: Once you’ve had your brows laminated, they’ll be easier to style and maintain. You can say goodbye to daily brow gel and brow pencil!
  • Long-lasting results: Brow lamination typically lasts for 6-8 weeks, so you can enjoy your perfect brows for longer.

How Does Brow Lamination Work?

The brow lamination process is simple and relaxing. Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Consultation: Your brow artist will consult with you to discuss your desired brow shape and goals.
  2. Brow mapping: Your artist will then map out your brows to ensure they are symmetrical and flattering to your face shape.
  3. Brow lamination: A series of solutions will be applied to your brows to relax the hair bonds and lift them into the desired position.
  4. Setting: The solutions will then be neutralized to set the hairs in place.
  5. Tinting (optional): You can also opt to have your brows tinted to add even more definition and fullness.

Is Brow Lamination Right For Me?

Brow lamination is a great option for anyone who wants to improve the appearance of their brows. It’s especially beneficial for people with:

  • Thin or sparse brows
  • Over-tweezed brows
  • Unruly brows
  • Downward-growing brows
  • Light-colored brows
